Works of Fire by EmotionalityStudios Works of Fire by EmotionalityStudios
I am going to be uploading one picture a day for the next year for my Project 365. So for the first one I am doing fireworks, for the New Year! This is a new technique I am working on perfecting for shooting fireworks.

This is an outstanding composition! I'm curious about the technique and processing involved in creating such results.

Thanks! The technique sounds fairly simple, but is complicated in it's execution. I put my camera in manual focus and start it out at the shortest focal distance at the start of the fireworks. Then I slowly turn the focus ring to infinite as the fireworks fade out. It takes some practice to get it right, but the results are amazing!

Ah, yes; I thought that's what it might be, but the smoothness of the result made me ask. Thank-you for sharing; I can respect the piece appropriately now. Great technique!
